Blog Week 1: sports moment

My favorite sports moment of all time was in the 1986 World Cup Quarterfinals match between Argentina and England. Going into the competition, Argentina was not expected to perform well. However, this expectation soon changed after Diego Maradona of Argentina showed his skills in the group stage of the tournament. Then, in the quarter-final match Diego Maradona scored two goals to secure Argentina the win that ultimately lead to a World Cup victory for his side. What strikes me is how the two goals sum up the life of Maradona: a liar and a cheat, but a true genius. His first goal was with his hand, and his celebration and slight of movement was enough to convince the referees that it was a legitimate goal. For the second goal, he dribbled through the entire English midfield and defense. It almost did not seem humanly possible.  Another reason this moment sticks out to me so much is the uncanny similarity between Maradona's second goal in this game and Messi's goal against Getaf...
